She can get very overwhelming very fast if you go too deep into it, too fast. Oh and The Budget Mom, stick to the basics. Once you get the hang of it, then you can invest in a better planner guilt-free. Think of it this way, spending a few dollars on a notebook and pens is an easy way to try different styles of budgeting. You don't need it all, you just need the basics and build from there.

I'm a big believer in trying out free printables before committing to anything. It's by far the best option I've tried so far and I've been sticking with it for over 6 months. I bought a clearanced Big Montly Happy Planner and clearanced big hp fill paper. I printed out a few and use them as a template in my planner. You can sign up for her free printables as well. Get yourself a regular notebook and watch her videos. She does have a planner but you don't need to get it. They are either too basic or too complicated. I haven't had much luck in using many of the budget planners/inserts out there. There’s no right or wrong way to do any of it! Get creative, get functional, you got this! Hope this helped. My advice, make you’re notebook work for you if you need to put one budget tracker page at a time and a ton of filler paper do it. I can’t stress enough the main difference between Happy Notes and Happy Planners for people who don’t want a particular organized style but stay organized in other ways. I also just randomly write things right when I need them not even organized by the section but the fact of the matter is, it gets used. Maybe try this as well? Who knows it might be your vibe too. I enjoy organized chaos so having a lot of things in one place is actually helpful. I use a Classic Happy Notes with dotted line paper.
